The Custom Rough Hewn mantel has an attractive, naturalistic texture that includes pronounced lines, elegant ridges, and deep grooves. Molded from real wood that has been axed and split to give it its particularly rustic look, this mantel will make for a gorgeous addition to a fireplace design, and easily upgrade the ambiance of any room.
The mantels are made of high-density polyurethane, and don’t crack, chip, or deteriorate like real wood can. They also resist wood-damaging insects, like termites. Thus, they will last much longer than a real wood mantel, and maintain a charming look throughout the years. These mantels also weigh a fraction of real wood. Thanks to this, they won’t require added support to keep them on your wall. Very easy to install, they make for a fun weekend project.
The variety of color and sizing options also gives you the benefit of getting the mantel that’s perfect for your design. Even better, these don’t have the high cost normally associated with custom mantels. The range of color choices go beautifully with any décor. You can also choose the Unfinished option, and paint or stain the mantel to your liking.

Product Notes:
- Although our products are incredibly realistic, they are combustible. When installed near a heat source such as a fireplace insert or stove they need to be installed according to the fireplace insert/stove manufacturer’s required clearances. For further information about fireplace mantel installation click here.
- Colors vary dramatically from monitor to monitor. For this reason we HIGHLY RECOMMEND reviewing a sample prior to ordering. The cost of up to five (5) samples is rebated with a full sized product purchase.
- Our faux mantels are durable, but are for decorative use only. Mantels are not intended to support heavy weight.
- Dimensions specified are outside dimensions of the product. Material is approximately 1 inch thick (+/- ¼ inch).
- Products are hand fabricated. Allow at least ½ inch tolerance when covering existing materials.

Insanely overpriced and poor quality. What I received was a cheap piece of painted foam. I won’t be able to keep decor on it or hang stockings on this mantel without destroying the fragile and cheap product I received. The corners were cracked, and the mantel was unevenly painted so you can see the foam underneath. For the price I paid, this was not at all what I expected and I will never be purchasing anything from this company again. Disappointed and infuriated is an understatement.

We put these beams in our vaulted living room and they look wonderful. No one can tell that it isn’t a real wooden beam

Our products can be used near fireplaces & wood stoves but with restrictions. Our faux wood mantels are made of high-density polyurethane and are combustible. When installed around a fireplace opening/insert, and/or stove, you must follow the fireplace insert/stove manufacturer's specifications for required clearances of Class B materials. All mantels ship with a touch-up paint kit. We offer an optional mounting block (or you can use wood blocks cut from a 2x4) to mount the mantels.
