Product Notes:
- Colors vary dramatically from monitor to monitor. For this reason we HIGHLY RECOMMEND reviewing a sample prior to ordering. The cost of up to five (5) samples will be deducted from a full-sized product purchase.
- Dimensions specified are outside dimensions of the product. Material is approximately 1 inch thick (+/- ¼ inch).
- Products are hand fabricated. Allow at least ½ inch tolerance when covering existing materials.
- Products have screws embedded in them that can easily be located with a stud finder. We recommend cutting with a hand saw to avoid injury. Barron Designs is not responsible for bodily harm or equipment damage if power tools are used.
- LTL shipping costs for beams typically start at about $300 per shipment. Shipping and tax estimates can be easily obtained under order details in the cart section of the website.
- Beams that are 22 feet or longer will be manufactured as a single beam then cut in half for shipping.

I purchased samples and found a perfect match to my new cabinets and floors in the "caramel" color. When the beams arrived, they did not match the caramel sample and were much closer to the "latte" sample. I let Barron know, but they just said "maybe the sample was old" and confirmed they were painted in the caramel color. I didn't have much choice at that point other than to have them installed. They look lovely and realistic, but the color is just wrong. I'm now going to have to hire someone to glaze or paint three 18 foot and two 13 foot beams. So disappointing.

Outer width is the width outside the beam. The inner width is the width inside the beam. Our product walls are 1'' thick with a variance of +/- 1/4''.
Timber Faux Wood Beams are crafted from molded high-density polyurethane, mimicking the look of wooden beams. Barron Designs creates these fake wooden beams, starting with molded polyurethane planks, which are then cut, hand-joined and finished to your precise specifications.

We recommend adding 2-2 1/2 inches to the size of the dims listed on our product to allow for variations in the beam or the item which you are covering. Our product walls are 1'' thick with a variance of +/- 1/4''. So for the width each side is 1'' with the possible variance which is why we recommend the above. The weight of a beam is dependent on the width and height selected. The best way to determine the weight of your exact beam is to customize it and place it in your cart. The weight will show there along with your other customizations. Good luck with your project.
We do not have a list of recommend installers. Any trim carpenter in your area should be able to install these for you. Ceiling Fans can be installed through the beam with proper support. If you would like a PDF of the instructions emailed for this please contact us at info@barrondesigns.com.
We will need your email to send out fire rating sheet. To ensure coverage of your beam with allowing tolerances, the size you listed should work. You may want to increase the width to 11 and the height to 15 just to be sure. If you will email info@barrondesigns.com and request the fire data sheet we will send it to you.
Yes you can order a beam with different heights (j-beam) but you'll have to contact our Customer Experience and design Support team at 800-651-4223 to complete the order. They are available Monday-Fri from 9-5 Eastern.
A 4 inch by 4 inch by 12 foot faux wood beam is approximately 15lbs. To get an exact weight - fully customize the beam and add it to your cart. The weight will show up there along with the rest of the product details.
